Day 1 Urubamba

We arrived to the hotel at around 9 am, but they had our room ready and it is absolutely beautiful. My friend Sherry asked on Facebook how long it took us door to door and the answer was 22 hours. So we promptly took a nap. After that we had a cooking class downstairs overlooking the beautiful Urubamba River. We learned how to make a dessert made of Quinoa. Afterwards we took a taxi into the town of Urubamba, where we visited the Plaza and the Market, which one must always do when in Latin America. Then we went on a hunt for a place John had read about called Seminario. We found the place, which had a high wall and a locked door. So what do you do then? You ring the bell. We did, and a beautiful woman answered and said “How do you know this place?” We told her, then she took us for a tour of the workshop where we watched them making the pots then painting them by hand. It  was a lovely adventure. After that, we went back to our hotel for a delicious dinner of trout, beef, duck, and pistachio and dulce de leche crepes. If Day 1 is any indication, I won’t be able to get enough of Peru.

  1. Hello, my dear. Thanks for doing this blog…soo much ground you have already covered, and the pictures are amazing. I plan to share with Chase this weekend. I too would love to stay in Peru if every morning included your meals, and adventures for the first day. Wow. Enjoy!

    • Thanks Rachel! We are having a great time. Blog is slow due to technology, but I will get caught up soon enough. Miss you! Trish.
